On September 9, 2025, the Seminar on Juncao Industrial Development for Central American Countries was held in China National Engineering Research Center of Juncao Technology. Lai Hairong (Chair of the University Council), Anna Julia (Governor of Comayagua in Honduras) and Lin Zhanxi (Chief Scientist of China National Engineering Research Center of Juncao Technology) attended the seminar and delivered speeches. 30 trainees from Honduras, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Colombia, and El Salvador participated in the seminar.

Lai Hairong addresses the seminar
Lai Hairong thanked the Ministry of Commerce for long-term support and welcomed the participants. He noted that Juncao technology, the innovation of FAFU professor Lin Zhanxi, has expanded its application in “using grass instead of wood” for cultivating edible mushroom to mushroom-residue feed, ecological governance, and biomass materials over the past 40 years. It has been introduced to 107 countries and regions worldwide, making significant contributions to global poverty reduction and ecological conservation efforts. The Americas is endowed with abundant natural resources and great agricultural development potentials, offering broad cooperation prospects with China. FAFU has established cooperative partnership with more than 100 institutions in over 30 countries and regions worldwide and has already offered 8 sessions of training courses of Juncao technology for over 200 participants from Latin American and the Caribbean countries. FAFU is looking forward to deepening the cooperation with Central American countries in agricultural sustainable development and poverty reduction and therefore making greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Anna Julia thanked China for holding the seminar and expressed the expectation that Juncao technology will aid Central America’s sustainable development and promote China-Central America technological cooperation and friendship.

Lin Zhanxi introduced the development journey and the achievements of Juncao technology to trainees, encouraging them to further promote the technology.
