On May 10th, the research team of Liu Kunxiang of the Basic Forestry and Proteomics Research Center of Haixia Institute of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the School of Medicine of Harvard University and Tokyo University, published online a research paper titled “Discovery of Nitrate-CPK-NLP signalling in central nutrient-growth networks” in the international top academic journal 《Nature》. Liu Kunxiang was both the first author and co-corresponding author of the research paper, and FAFU was the second signature unit of the paper.

The research reported many new technologies and methods in botanical research; besides, it elucidated the molecular mechanism of calcium-depend protein kinase mediated nitrate nitrogen signal transduction, which would provide important theoretical basis for improving nitrogen utilization and crop yield in molecular breeding in the future.
